This title is a wee bit ironic since Orlais's heraldry is actually a lion, and Ferelden's is a dog. And most Ferelden's despise Orlais. But Cullen's helmet is that of a lion. Which, again, is quite strange considering (as far as I know) he's never been to Orlais or has served Orlais prior to Inquisition. It kinda actually makes zero sense.

"The Lion Of Ferelden" is a rather gorgeous original song that Suzanne van Pelt did as a Dragon Age Inquisition tribute. It's on YouTube and I'd very much recommend it! It's also a bit of an old, non-canon reference to Cullen's s Lion Helmet which was shown in one trailer to cover up an animation issue with his mouth. Which I find very amusing.
